Oh, Polish transportation information. I currently am not too pleased with you. >( But... such is life! I'll get to that at the end of this lovely blog entry, which should be quick and to the point.
So! Yesterday. Was very slow, and depressing. I now dislike October 31st more than before. You see, that was the day my grandmother from my mother's side died years ago. Yesterday, we also found out that my uncle's and aunt's dear friend's mother died... My uncle and aunt were already going to go to Wrocław to take care of some graves from my aunt's family, but instead, it was a day spent helping out their friend. They came home utterly exhausted, and that's all I need to say. Therefore, I was home on my own. Fortunately, the day before, my aunt prepped me just in case something did happen so that I would have food and what not. When they come, we just relaxed and chatted a bit.
Unfortunately, we did not get my train ticket. Very unfortunate, in this case. Still, I will get to that in a bit! Today, everyone from the family was supposed to come, but Grzesiek, his wife, and kids were all sick, so they stayed in Oława. Agata, Adam, and Tymek did come, however! Tymon was sleeping in the car, so we first enjoyed some tea, but once he woke up, we headed out to the cemetary.
Wow. I have never been in Poland for All Saint's Day... It was absolutely gorgeous! Flowers on every single grave, candles galore, just... it's beautiful to know that people appreciate their family so much. We visited the Koneczny grave first, of course, but then we all went to my mom's side of the family as well, where I lit candles for them. They were beautifully decorated by a family friend already. The amount of people there. The crowds. Absolutely stunning. It was difficult to walk through the cemetary, as opposed to the typical walk and occasional hello.
Besides that, we enjoyed obiad at home later on and just watching Tymek play with occasional conversation. Really, a wonderful afternoon. Very relaxing. I was tired for whatever reason. After a while, I was all packed up and ready to go, then Adam, Agata, and I headed out to Oława so I could catch my 18.19 train.
The website lied. Ok, so Adam and I were on the train station, and we saw a 17.42 train on the overhead. However, it was delayed. But seeing 17.42 worried me, because I only recalled seeing 17.20, 18.19, and then... ... 23.24. Adam said not to worry, the train pulled up, and within half a minute pulled away. So before we could really figure out anything, it was gone. We stayed on the platform and waited for some sort of next sign. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. ... Well, let's call my uncle and try to get more information. Long story short. The trains were actually 17.12, 17.42, and... still 23.24. Son of a...
So... yeah. Missed my train. Here I am, at Agata's and Adam's until the train. I'll be back at 4 in the morning as opposed to the original 23.00... ... Quite the time difference. Alas, such is life! Next time, buying the ticket ahead of time, without a doubt. Oh, then we checked the website again, and it was corrected. ARGH! But again, oh well! Life moves on! I have class at 10.05 tomorrow, as opposed to 9, or even worse, earlier. So I'm all good!
... Oh my poor nephew. He's absolutely exhausted. He's taking a bath, and I hear him crying his head off, upset over some reason. Likely from exhaustion. I saw it earlier. But yeah, he had me read three of his books to him when I came back, and he had me helping out with his puzzles and everything. So that's super awesome. I love this kid. <3 Oh! And I had him say "chłopak" (boy), "ptak" (bird), and "koc" (blanket), for what I think is the first time today. It's really cool seeing how much his vocabulary is picking up day by day. Such simple daily baby talk really does help them learn, because they pick up on it and remember it, and eventually, put 2 and 2 together. (:
But in regards to his exhaustion. He was sitting at his little eating table, and putting together a puzzle. He put it together twice, and the second time, he simply pulled it apart and started throwing the pieces to the ground. At this point, his dad was like: Nope. That's not how you do it. Time for your bath. Therefore, my nephew, took that as the utmost offense, as his dad lifted him out of his chair for his bath. Oh, how dare his father make him stop messing up his puzzle! Haha, but really. I'm super glad I came here for the weekend. My first All Saint's Day in Poland, family bonding time, and just awesomeness all around. We'll see how I feel tomorrow, though, woohoo!!!
